Trip to Verulamium

What an amazing day!  Your children were a credit to you all.  Their behaviour was fantastic and we has such a lovely time.  For most of the time the weather was great, just 5 minutes of hail stones, thank goodness.

We started our day with a handling session of Roman artefacts and this lead to very interesting discussions about what the objects were used for!  Roman toilet paper was a source of fascination to us all!  Then we visited the museum and searched for the answers to our worksheet.  The children were amazed at the size and beauty of the mosaics.

Lunch and the gift shop were next on the agenda before we set off to visit the hypocaust and the Roman mosaic.  The children did some lovely sketches and then we played some games in the park and went to see the remains of the Roman wall.

Perfect timing for a walk around the lake and back to the bus.

A lovely, very educational, fun day!
